Saddam Hussein’s Execution: Who Will Succeed Him
December 30th 2006 15:27
Don’t get this post wrong. I just heard over CNN this morning that Saddam Hussein, the chief architect for spreading havoc and disarray in Iraq and the United States was finally handed the capital punishment of hanging. A fair trial was what I heard over and over, but from the moment he was arrested, there is not question that it was all moot and academic from thereon, considering that Saddam openly admitted that all the terror attacks made against the United States were of his doing.
Saddam thus joins the ranks of past dictators known to the world such as Adolf Hitler, Benito Mussolini and Ferdinand Marcos of the Philippines. It will be recalled that Nostradamus made close to accurate predictions wherein a new dictator type of leadership would rise in the Middle East. Everyone is claiming that this was Saddam Hussein.
So now that Saddam Hussein is gone, should there be a feeling of relief? Has the world become safer, particularly the United States? Mixed reactions can be drawn from this event, but one thing I immediately wondered, were all Hussein’s followers captured and accounted for? How sure are we that there are no successors or followers who would carry out in what they believe in, especially when one talks about craving for power of the world?
Speculations from all angles will be considered. To date, the Iraq war has not yet been settled and it is doubtful if Saddam’s execution will put an end to the endless killings that seems to grow in numbers as each day passes. My best bet is to follow in the succeeding days of how this issue would impact in the world. It can go as long as several months to finally proclaim that the worst is over. Or then again, has it just begun to become worst?
