Gas Prices Soon To Be $6 Per Gallon
June 10th 2008 21:12
What are you going to do when gas goes to $6 per gallon?
Does anyone have any suggestions?
Let me spell this out for all who doubt.
Americans are flouting huge amounts of consumer debt (bad debt). Barely able to pay their monthly credit card payments. Basically slave to the credit cards. Oh and other debt too! Car loan, mortgage and others. All that debt just to live and go to work every day.
Guess what? When gas goes up so does other stuff! Shipping becomes more expensive and so consumer products, including food, go up with it. That increase in cost does not equate to an increase in wages for the workers. The cost of plastic products goes up with gas too! Get ready for a 20% increase there.
That is right, stagflation. A bad stagnant economy and inflation. More importantly though is the R word, Recession.
I foresee bad things folks.
I could get out my Excel program and calculate (My MBA in International Business gives me lots of nerdy economists tools) all kinds of stuff showing how bad things will get if we are not economically careful but I would rather start working on a plan to hedge against the down turned economy.
The funny thing is though, that my own business is doing better than ever. Odd hu?

Strategy and Solutions
We first should identify what the issue is exactly (I know, it is a lot of stuff combined) and to what extent do we want to try to influence, and is it feasible.
I would say the very next step is..... IRAC not Iraq....
Issue: we need to identify this and the scope of it.
Rule: what has been done in the past about similar issues or in other fields. For instance in medicine, how do you help someone who is bleeding to death?
Analysis: how does the rule work with our issue?
Conclusion: what steps to actually take going forward.
