For people, hitting the books and studying may seem to be an endless endeavor for them, wanting to get a piece of the real world and undertake something more worthwhile. The importance of a good education is usually overlooked and all that matters is to land a good paying job to survive in the world today.

This is why most people would question if securing MBA degrees are truly worth the effort and time. For one, MBA degrees are viewed as something that would allow most people to realize higher paid salaries. However, the value of the MBA degree is overlooked. For one, it is simply like a refresher course at another level for most business students, providing them with additional training and adding more to their roster of contacts in the business industry.

For people like me, I consider securing an MBA degree a fulfillment. With a basic background in business administration from my college days, there was hardly any adjustment other than trying to work with a team of students who come from various fields such as Information Technology, manufacturing, operations management, banking and finance and human resources. Not only is the educational aspect important in graduate schools but the opportunity to get the viewpoints from different perspectives. These are all key ingredients and cooking up a student who accomplishes his MBA into a general type of position, being exposed to the insights coming from the different departments that make up any organization.

Such has been my experience from securing my degree at the Ateneo Graduate School of Business. To date, I have secured a better and promising job thanks to my degree. The best part of it is that I am learning more and gaining additional confidence with regards to running a business, similar to entrepreneurship. This is perhaps the dream of any person that of which is to be the head of any organization or be part of making an organization grow big through leaps and bounds.

Hi Brian

I always wondered about the value of an MBA outside those people who needed to run a successful business. I always assumed it was a corporate business degree and your post has enlightened me.

Hi Johanna:

You should try considering it if you have time. Its really a very informative way of discovering new techniques and strategies. The important thing is being able to work toegether with people from different origins. Helps build friendship and contacts essential to business development, not to mention feeling fulfilled with another degree as well.

Thanks!

Brian

That sounds pretty interesting Brian. i finished my degree 11 years ago and have often toyed with the idea of studying again, but never knew what to do. I might just do some research. Thanks

Wow, same here! I am contemplating on taking up a Doctorate Degree but it would depend on time and priorities and would be quite an accomplishment. I just miss studying sometimes. Put your degree to good use, you will be surprised with the things you will discover. I know I have!

Regards!
